You’re thinking about volunteering at the Kemptville Youth Centre! Excellent! Our continued success depends on people just like you.
There are currently a number of volunteer opportunities available either working directly with youth as part of our daily and weekly programming or not working directly with youth as part of administrative, grant writing, event and fundraising support. We’d be happy to welcome you in a role custom fit for you.
Simply select a volunteering opportunity that interests you, read the policy manual (docx), fill out the volunteer application form (pdf)and email it to us or call to make an appointment at 613-258-5212. We’re looking forward to meeting you!
Please note: A Police Records Check is required of any applicant seeking employment and/or volunteer work with youth centres.
You have an ability to connect with youth, to get them smiling when they’re down, to just hang out with them and have them easily accept you. You’re approachable and easy to talk to. In you they find support, a role model to emulate, inspiration for their passions or encouragement to define and seek their life goals. If this is you, then we’d love to pair you up with one of our youth programs below or have you be part of the solution to our transportation dilemma.
Drop-in Programs Require Volunteers
You would assist in the facilitation of different social-based afternoon and evening drop-in programs offered for youth aged 12-18. In addition to facilitation, this one-on-one position would also allow for the creation of new programming opportunities which could then be coordinated by you.
Offsite, Overnight and Special Activity Volunteer
You’d really like to engage with youth but have limited time? Then check out the calendar to see which non-program activities would suit your schedule. Accompany youth on a field trip, share some popcorn during an overnight movie marathon, participate and moderate a role playing game night, judge one of the March Break reality TV challenges…It’s all great fun and it would be even better with you there.
The biggest obstacle in running a rural youth centre is transportation for youth. If you have your own vehicle and a clean driving record, we’d love to hear from you. You would work with our staff to coordinate your driving schedule, transporting youth safely and on time to and from Kemptville Youth Centre events.
So you believe in our mission but prefer to make an impact behind the scene, not working directly with teens? We get that. And we have great opportunities that will allow you to make a big impact on our operations and on our bottom line.
You have strong organizational skills and a great phone manner? Why not assist our staff with filing, mailing, data entry, answering phones and clerical duties?
Special Event Volunteer
The Kempvtille Youth Centre raises money and community awareness through a variety of special events. We can use your help at activities, which are often held on evenings and weekends.
Fundraising Coordinator Volunteer
You enjoy networking and have strong public speaking and communication skills? We could use your talents to raise awareness about our organization and secure the funding required for our operations. If you would enjoy assisting in the creation and implementation of fundraising strategy, securing sponsorship and funding opportunities with the Kemptville and surrounding area businesses and from private citizens and community groups, then give us a shout.
Grant Writer Volunteer
How about putting your writing and research skills and excellent command of the English language to good use? We need a special volunteer to locate and pursue grant applications to secure funds for the continuing operations of our facility and its programs.
Are you handy? Good with tools? Why not come take a gander at some odd jobs that need to be done.
If you have your own ideas of how you could help, give us a call. We would be happy to discuss your involvement.
